Risk Assessments

Since the introduction of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 you are legally required to provide written documentation of all health and safety policies procedures and risk assessments. Acorn Environmental Health and Safety Ltd will update your documents to reflect changes in your organisation and legislation.

What is a Risk Assessment?

A Risk assessment is the systematic examination of premises and working practices that identifies hazards and to evaluate existing controls. A "suitable and sufficient" risk assessment will take all of the existing control measures into consideration and will make recommendations for changes and/or additional measures to reduce the risk to an acceptable level.

Current legislation is all about risk assessments, Acorn Environmental Health and Safety Consultants are here to guide you through the risk assessment process from identification of hazards to risk quantification, and determining appropriate solutions that will allow you to achieve success in managing the risks. The Regulations require that a "suitable and sufficient" risk assessment be carried out prior to works commencing.

We can help with all aspects of hazards and risk identification management from procedures to risk assessment training.

It has been established that for every accident leading to serious injury there are approximately 10 minor injuries and 30 property damage incidents occurred prior to the major event.
